Reservoir Social Club – All Plants Welcome
Artist: Sarah Rudledge
Artist Statement
Reservoir Social Club is a living and growing installation made up of indoor plants. In partnership with the Reservoir Neighbourhood House, local community members were invited to contribute plants to the artwork. They were invited to provide care instructions for their green companions and encouraged to visit during the exhibition, hopefully with a friend or family member. Reservoir Social Club explores experiences of care and togetherness, through our relationships with our plants.

Artist Bio
Sarah Rudledge is a visual artist living in Naarm/Melbourne. In her practice she looks for ways to make art part of everyday life as a means to imagine more empathetic ways of living in the world. Rudledge works with everyday materials, alongside video and performance, as they offer more immediate ways of responding to and working with the rhythms of daily life. She enjoys collaborating with people, plants, oceans and gardens – observing and listening to what’s taking place – and then devising actions and small rituals as an artistic response. Until 2020, Sarah lived and worked in East Reservoir for over 10 years.
