Scrapper - JOLTED Arts Space
Scrapper by Noise Scavengers
Noise Scavengers is a sound art band that explores the intersection between rock instruments, sound art, electronic music and art music.
Heavily inspired by the Australian and international sound art scenes, the Noise Scavengers offer audiences their version of junk percussion and found sound music making.
Scrapper is a 40-minute show that delights in junk and electronic audio play and exploration.
Members:
STUART FLENLEY – GUITAR
ASTRID MEURER – GUITAR
DANIEL MUNNERY – ELECTRONICS
ESTHER TUDDENHAM – SYNTHS /// BASS GUITAR
In 2022, the Noise Scavengers developed the show Augmented Hyenas funded through the City of Darebin. The show involved new technology in the form of wearable sound controllers and synthesizers. This technology was developed in collaboration with Stelarc, Richard Allen and JOLT Arts.
The show was a great success, later touring to Japan and then being released as an album (Augmented Hyenas, Hullick Studios, 2023). Inspired by legendary junk and found object acts such as Stompand The Blue Men, the Noise Scavengers offer audiences their own version of junk and found sound music making.
This project has been assisted by Creative Australia and Live Music Australia – an Australian Government initiative.
