Rezza Murals Launch
Rezza Mural Launch is a chance to come together as a community to celebrate the 5 new murals that have been installed throughout Reservoir.
Location: Corner of Chedder Road and Broadway, Parklet. Reservoir
In partnership with the Victorian Government’s Suburban Revitalisation Program, Darebin Council has commissioned six artists to create five new murals throughout the centre of Reservoir.
The murals in this series explore Reservoir’s diverse and multicultural community, its natural landscapes, its flora and fauna, to highlight what makes Reservoir so “uniquely Rezza.”
To celebrate the five new vibrant murals in the area, we are gathering with the artists and local community for a celebratory launch event. This event will also be an opportunity to shine a little light on the new FUSE installation Reservoir Little Art Gallery curated by local artist Nicole Robertson.
This event will include a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country, community planting (BYO gardening gloves!), free coffee, performance by local band La Descarga, artist talk from Nicole Robertson, curator of the Reservoir Little Art Gallery and a walking tour of the murals and artist talks by Texta Queen, Christine Martin, Abbey Rich and Olana Janfa, Hayden Dewar and Emily Green.
We hope to see you there for a wonderful celebration of our local artists!
