Meet the Makers Picnic is a one-day event organized by FUSE Darebin aimed at celebrating the vibrant culture and creative spirit of Darebin. It offers a platform for local talent, musicians, makers, and community members to come together for a day of music, culinary delights, and community engagement.
2. When and where will the event take place? The event is scheduled for Saturday March 23rd, at the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, located at 7 Prospect Drive, Bundoora.
3. What time does the event start and end?
The event will run from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
4. What can attendees expect at the event?
Attendees can expect a diverse range of activities including:
- Live music performances and DJ sets curated by DJ JNETT.
- Makers Showcase featuring local producers competing across various categories such as homemade wine, beer, preserves, and bread.
- Opportunities to sample homegrown beverages and produce.
- Family-friendly activities and entertainment tailored for children.
- Aboriginal cultural experience with Aunty Brenda Fahey, featuring hands-on activities like gum nut painting, dot painting, storytelling, and crafting.
- Food and beverages available on-site or attendees can bring their own picnic baskets to enjoy amidst the picturesque setting of the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre.

No, the event is free to attend. However, registration is encouraged.

7. What transportation options are available to reach the venue?
Bundoora Homestead Art Centre has a disability parking bay close to the entrance and on-site car parking. If you require an accessible parking bay, please contact us and this can be reserved for you.
- Shuttle Bus: A shuttle bus service will be available to transport attendees to and from designated locations. The bus will run every twenty minutes from the 86 Tram, stop 64.
- Public Transport: The Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is accessible by public transport. Attendees can use trains, buses, or trams to reach the venue. Plan your journey using the Public Transport Victoria website or app. Via Tram 86. Tram stop 62 to 64.
- Car: For those driving, there is no parking at the venue unless previously organised. Please note that parking may be limited nearby, so carpooling or arriving early is recommended.

- Cycling/Walking: The venue is also accessible by bicycle or on foot for those living nearby.

9. Accessibility: The event aims to be inclusive and accessible to all individuals. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and accommodations will be made to ensure everyone can participate in the activities.

A prayer tent and sensory tent will also be available, supported by Council’s Family Youth and Children Services staff. The sensory tent is available for children and families to access relaxing time out or to reduce environmental stimulation.

COVID-19 safety measures such as sanitation stations, social distancing guidelines, and other protocols will be implemented in accordance with local health regulations at the time of the event. Please stay updated on any specific requirements closer to the event date.
11. Bringing Food and Beverages: Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets with food and non-alcoholic beverages. However, alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought onto the premises.
Picnic food packs will be available to purchase – subject to availability.
