Guided Tour of Lena's Courtyard Garden
Lena is in the fourth year of creating a permaculture inspired garden in her 40m2 courtyard in Thornbury.
Three years on this 45 m2 court yard garden is a thriving oasis of food producing plants, bee, insect and bird attracting flowers, as well as, providing greenery and colour to feast the eyes.
Lena will give a short summary of gardening in this small space to date, and the principles that guide her approach. For the second half of the visit Lena and a co-gardener neighbour will take visitors on a tour of the larger precinct and speak about the sustainability initiatives being rolled out. The intention is to inspire residents in other multi-unit developments to take a look at their own environs and feel more confident to initiate projects.
